At Luther Rice, our 100% online asynchronous model is designed to give you the flexibility to learn on your schedule while keeping you connected to a structured course timeline. This balance allows you to complete your studies at times that work best for you—without sacrificing the accountability and steady pace that lead to success.
What is Asynchronous Learning?
In an asynchronous course, you are not required to attend live class sessions. Instead, course materials, recorded lectures, and assignments are posted online for you to access throughout each week—day or night. You decide when to engage with the content, but each course follows a clear weekly schedule with specific deadlines. For example, you may have a discussion post due mid-week and an assignment due at the end of the week. This approach gives you the freedom to plan your study time while ensuring steady progress toward your goals.
Key Benefits

10 Tips for Online Success
1. Establish a Dedicated Study Space
Find a quiet, organized place where you can focus without distractions. A consistent environment helps you stay productive, disciplined, and better able to balance school with personal responsibilities.2. Stick to a Consistent Schedule
Consistency is key. Set specific times for studying, participating in class discussions, and completing assignments. A set routine keeps you from feeling rushed or overwhelmed by deadlines.3. Learn the Platform Early
Familiarize yourself with Moodle (or your course platform) right away. Know where to find materials, submit assignments, check grades, and ask questions—it’ll make your semester much smoother.4. Manage Your Time Wisely
Use calendars, planners, or task apps to organize study blocks, assignment deadlines, and personal commitments. Good time management keeps you focused and reduces last-minute stress.5. Participate in Discussions
Engage with your classmates and professors beyond simply “getting the work done.” Thoughtful contributions deepen understanding, spark new insights, and make learning more rewarding.6. Communicate with Professors
Don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or guidance. Professors want you to succeed, and proactive communication helps you stay on track academically.7. Use Academic Resources
Tap into the library, research guides, writing center, tutoring, and other student support services. These tools are designed to help you thrive in your studies.8. Focus on One Task at a Time
Multitasking often lowers productivity and work quality. Give each task your full attention to ensure you’re producing your best work.9. Join Virtual Study Groups
Online learning doesn’t mean learning alone. Connect with classmates for group study sessions, discussions, or project collaboration. These relationships can be academically and personally enriching.10. Prioritize Prayer & Self-Care
Academic success is built on overall well-being. Maintain your spiritual, mental, and physical health through prayer, rest, exercise, and time with loved ones. A balanced life fuels lasting success.
